Is your life aligned with your goals? Do you really know what you want and how to achieve it? In this post I talk about the 7 steps to get it according to the best coach in the world.
The Seven Steps to an Extraordinary Life

One of my professional references is coach Tony Robbins, probably considered as the best coach in the world. He has written several books and has helped thousands of people to live a better life. Recently, Tony developed a checklist of 7 steps called “The Path”. Here are THE 7 STEPS TO HELP YOU LIVE AN EXTRAORDINARY LIFE:

  1. WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT? Activating one’s hunger for success is the catalyst for true transformation. Tony Robbins emphasizes that the cornerstone of achievement lies not in intelligence or skill, but in an insatiable hunger—a desire to do more, be more, and create more. Identifying your deepest desires, understanding what drives you, and crafting a clear vision are pivotal in shaping your life’s narrative. As Robbins says, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible”.
  2. FIND AND FACE THE TRUTH. The power of truth liberates us. It involves a candid assessment of our current reality versus our desired destination. Acknowledging the gaps between the two exposes barriers—be they limiting beliefs, fears, habits, or lacking skills—that impede progress. Honesty with oneself is the precursor to growth.
  3. RESOLVE AND CREATE A M.A.P. Creating a Massive Action Plan serves as a roadmap towards desired outcomes. It’s not about perfection but about outlining actionable steps. Identifying these actions bridges the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Robbins highlights that “The path to success is to take massive, determined action”.
  4. YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT’S HARD. Success requires confronting challenges head-on. This is the stage where individuals differentiate themselves—where perseverance, skill acquisition, shedding old stories, and eliminating excuses become paramount. It’s about surmounting obstacles to achieve dreams.
  5. DEVELOP A DAILY PRACTICE. Consistency is key. Daily habits grounded in gratitude, reconnecting with aspirations, and nurturing one’s inner world fortify the path to success. These practices serve as a renewal, reinforcing commitment to goals.
  6. RAISE YOUR STANDARDS AND MEASURE MORE OFTEN. Human nature inclines us toward comfort, but greatness demands continual growth. Regularly evaluating progress, adjusting standards, and seeking mentorship or coaching to aid this evolution is crucial. Surrounding oneself with mentors and accountable individuals accelerates personal development.
  7. LIFE IS A GIFT: CELEBRATE, APPRECIATE, AND GIVE BACK. The pinnacle of success lies in giving back. Achievements aren’t solely for personal gain; they’re opportunities to contribute positively to the world. Embracing the idea that life is a gift encourages celebration, appreciation, and a commitment to making a difference. As Robbins says, “Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more”.

Tony Robbins’ seven-step guide isn’t a linear journey; it’s a continuous cycle of self-reflection, action, and growth. Revisiting these steps regularly ensures alignment with one’s aspirations. As Robbins aptly puts it, “Life is indeed a journey one where constant evaluation and evolution are paramount”.

I finish this post with another quote by Tony Robbins: “Most people overestimate what they can do in a year, and they underestimate what they can do in two or three decades.”
